Schild, Hendrik
Worked at PZH likely between 1915 and 1917, possibly longer

Hendrik David Schild was born in The Hague in 1872. He started as a pupil at Rozenburg probably in 1887 and worked there until July 1902 (with a break in 1893/1895.likely for military service. For the last 5 years at Rozenburg he was a master painter, known for tile tableaux. After 1902 he may have worked as an independent artist. In 1912 he left The Hague and lived in the countryside not far from Gouda, apart from 2 years (1915-1917) when he lived in Gouda. In and possibly around this period he has created Paysages for PZH. He died in Alphen aan de Rijn in 1928

The Paysages were branded differently from the other production, making them harder to date. Judging by the output of other artists like van der Noordaa the Paysages on e.g. large vases reached its zenith in the second decade of the 20th century.
