Born in 1878 in Kampen, his family moved to Amsterdam before 1890. He moved from Amsterdam to Purmerend in March 1897 and is registered as ‘schilder’ (painter) but his monogram appears on Brantjes objects. He moved to The Hague in November 1897 (but did not work for Rozenburg) and then to Gouda on 26 October 1898 where he is registered as “porceleinschilder”. He left in June 1899 and was first registered as porceleinschilder in Rotterdam and from October 1899 in Amsterdam but there is no certainty where he worked. In 1904 he is registered as schilder
The scarcity of objects with his monogram might indicate a really short employment at PZH, possibly not more than the period he lived in Gouda.
