Frederika Charlotta Delchambre was born in 1878 in Gouda as daughter of a policeman. According to Tasman cs. she started at PZH in 1904, but considering she was already around 20 when PZH started in 1897 she could have been hired earlier. In the Gouda civil records from 1900 - 1920, the first annotations to the Delchambre family record appear only in 1911, so FD’s profession as “ceramic painter” could have been entered with the original record, in 1900 or soon after when the 1900-1920 books were started. She appears to have painted only P décor and considering the high number of surviving early P décor pieces bearing her monogram FD she did this for a good number of years. There are very few signed pieces by her after the change in management in 1908 and according to the civil records, she left Gouda for Waddinxveen in 1911 to work as domestic help. In 1914 she moved with her parents and two unmarried sisters to The Hague where she worked as live-in domestic help. With one of her employers, she moved in 1919 for 8 months to Frankfurt, Germany. At some point after 1938, she moved to Velp near Arnhem (a popular area for retirement) where she passed away on 28 May 1958, at 79 years of age.
